Guard your identity by default

The strongest safety habit is the simplest: share less. Skip your real name, your city, your workplace, and any handle you use elsewhere. Behind the lace you are a face and a first name you choose — keep it that way until someone earns more.

Check what your camera can see before the call begins. Mail with your address, a work badge on the desk, a recognizable view out the window — all of it says more about you than you meant to. A plain wall by candlelight is underrated.

Stay in control of the call

You never owe anyone a camera. Start on voice or text if you prefer, and turn the video on only when it feels right. Switching down mid-call is not rude and costs you nothing.

Leaving is one tap and needs no explanation — no goodbye, no excuse. If a conversation turns pushy, you are simply gone. Block, and that person can never be matched to you again.

Pressure after a no is exactly what the report button is for. Reports go to a human moderator, and moderation runs around the clock — at 2 a.m. the same as at 2 p.m.

Keep money and recordings straight

Coins are for time on cam — nothing else. Anyone who asks you to send money, gift cards, or crypto off-platform is a scam, every single time. Report and block.

Never record another person without their knowledge — it is grounds for a ban here and worse elsewhere. Assume the same standard protects you: what happens behind the lace stays behind the lace.
